Serving God involves acknowledging the facets of God in your life. With every facet of God, we find ourselves involved in receiving. When we think of God’s kindness, we exemplify a sense of gratitude as we acknowledge God’s kindness. A connection is then engendered from that gratitude which results in providing what God expects, which is to be gracious to others as God has been with us. The most giving people are the ones who embrace the many blessings in their lives.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3Know that the Lord he is God: it is he who made us, and we
belong to him; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. [Psalm 100: 2-3]

The Hebrew word עִבְדוּ [ivdu], meaning serve begins the second verse to punctuate that the serve is expected to be done with gladness which requires an appreciation, to begin with, without a selfish mindset. It is only through a selfless perspective of life that one can be able to begin experiencing the solace and peace that reciprocating a blessing, as onto a perfect God, would instill.

Only through a selfless perspective of life can God be central in one’s God given life. Whether we are needing to receive from someone because we may be in need or serving someone who is in need, all together the exchange of kindness with contentment brings us all closer to Him, as we all belong to Him.
